Image, PDF, audio and video processing

The image, PDF, audio and video tools read and process files you select or drop in your browser. Image tools can also use an image you explicitly paste. Toolkitta does not upload or store these files on a server. Pasting uses the image supplied by your paste action; we do not continuously read your clipboard or request permission to read it.

Images and PDFs

Some formats need extra decoding or encoding code, including HEIC, AVIF, lossless WebP and the PDF engine. That code is downloaded from our hosting when needed; your file is never sent. Background Remover also downloads a model of about 46 MB when you first press Remove background. The model is kept in your browser's storage for later visits, and clearing this site's data removes it. Your photos are processed inside the page.

Re-encoded image results and rendered PDF pages usually omit embedded camera tags. Original-kept and lossless PNG paths may retain metadata; use Remove Image Metadata and check the downloaded copy when removal is the goal. Image to PDF can instead embed original JPG bytes, including EXIF and GPS metadata; it is not a metadata-removal tool.

Remove Image Metadata reads each picture's metadata in the page to show what it carries, then rewrites JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files without their metadata blocks (keeping only the orientation tag and, if you choose, the colour profile) and checks the result; other formats are saved again from pixels. It removes embedded file metadata only: it cannot remove anything visible in the picture, such as faces, street signs or screen text.

EXIF Viewer reads camera settings, dates and GPS location from each picture in the page and changes nothing. CSV, Excel and JSON exports are created on your device. Open in map is an ordinary link to OpenStreetMap: only when you click it, that photo's coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap in the page address.

Subtitle files and pasted captions are read, edited and corrected on your device. Optional audio/video playback uses a local file URL and browser codecs. SRT, VTT and transcript downloads are made in the browser. Caption text and media are not uploaded or automatically saved; the tool does not contact a transcription or translation service.

Merge PDF and Split & Organize PDF copy original page content and can retain embedded page data. Compress PDF’s Keep text mode preserves text and document structures while rewriting pictures; a returned Flatten pages result replaces pages with images and loses interactive fields and links. If Original kept is reported, original structures remain. Rotate PDF changes page orientation and keeps everything else. Crop PDF changes the visible area but leaves cropped-off content hidden in the file.

Watermark PDF and Add Page Numbers draw onto the pages and keep the rest of the PDF. A watermark picture is read on your device and embedded in the file. Sign PDF draws your signature, date and text onto the pages; strokes, typed names and uploaded signature pictures stay in tab memory until you save. This is an electronic signature, not a certificate-based digital one. Fill PDF Forms writes answers into the form fields and keeps the rest of the document; answers stay in tab memory until you save.

Unlock PDF and Protect PDF decrypt or encrypt in your browser. Your password is used in the active browser session, never persisted in a saved workflow or sent for processing. These PDF tools do not remove metadata or securely redact content. Deleting pages or removing a password does not guarantee confidential data is gone, and an unlocked copy has no protection.

Image Editor and PDF Editor share an on-device Studio. Images and PDFs append pages to the current document. Supported PDF text and photos can be prepared for editing; unsupported content keeps its original appearance with additions. Explicit .toolkitta projects contain the current document, original source files and their metadata, authored text, edited form answers and placed signature or replacement images. Media-free .toolkitta-recipe.json recipes and saved Studio workflow settings retain authored text, answers and arrangement settings; source and supplemental files must be supplied again. Treat those settings as private when they contain personal information. PDF export passwords are used only for the active export and excluded from project, recipe and workflow saves. Originals and standalone projects are not saved automatically. Cropping hides content and is not redaction; graphic signatures are not digital certificate signatures.

Audio and video

Video Editor keeps videos, sound and images in this tab. Explicit .toolkitta-video projects include original files, their metadata and editable settings; recipes/workflow saves omit media and recordings. Recording requests microphone permission only when chosen, and Stop, Cancel or leaving the editor stops the microphone. Video/audio sources may be 15 minutes each; editor output may be 30 minutes, up to a 1,920 px longest side / 30 fps. Exports use MP4/WebM subject to browser codecs, re-encode frames and omit original metadata. Nothing is saved automatically.

Audio Editor requests microphone permission only when you choose Record voiceover. Recording and editing happen locally. Stopping, cancelling or leaving the editor stops its microphone tracks. A downloaded .toolkitta-audio project includes original source files (including the full video when imported), which can retain metadata, and editable arrangement settings. Projects are not automatically stored in your browser. Audio recipes and saved workflows contain arrangement settings and source-slot requirements, never recordings or source files; add required files again after reopening. The editor accepts up to 20 sources, 50 MB each and 150 MB total, with 15 minutes per source and a 30-minute composition. Exports support MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and M4R (up to 40 seconds), subject to browser codec support.

Audio Trimmer, Audio Converter, Compress Audio, Merge Audio, Change Audio Speed & Pitch and Change Audio Volume process audio on your device. Audio Converter can read video files to keep their sound. Encoder code downloads from this site only when needed; audio and filenames are not sent with those requests. Editing may re-encode audio, changing quality and metadata. Supported input codecs depend on your browser.

Compress Video, Video Converter, Trim, Merge, Crop, Resize, Rotate and Mute Video, Change Video Speed, Change Video Volume, Add Music to Video, Video to GIF and Video Frame Extractor read video on your device. Frame Extractor saves JPG or PNG; Video to GIF saves GIF; the other tools save MP4 or WebM. Video Converter, Merge, Rotate, Mute and Change Video Volume copy picture data without re-encoding when possible. Music added through the Music step is read and mixed on your device. During a video or audio job, the page asks the browser to keep the screen awake and to confirm before closing the tab.

Temporary files and downloads

Where supported, encoded video and audio results are written as they are made to this site's private browser storage so long recordings need not fit in memory. Other sites cannot read that storage. Results are deleted when removed or replaced, or at the latest when you next open a video or audio tool after closing the page. Clearing this site's data also removes them.

Workflows process selected files on your device. The current workflow’s steps, settings and canvas positions are kept in local storage on this device; Clear removes the draft. Workflows you Save remain until deleted, and Download file writes a portable description. Studio recipes can include authored text, form answers and arrangement settings, which may be personal; original files, result bytes, export passwords and supplemental media are excluded. Those source files must be supplied again. Workflow descriptions and files are not sent to us for processing. Files and results stay available within this tab until cleared, closed or refreshed; large audio/video outputs may use this site’s private browser storage. After an unexpected close, temporary files may remain until a later media-tool cleanup or until site data is cleared.

Image Editor and its focused tools use the same local Studio as PDF Editor. Save project downloads a .toolkitta file with editable pages, source files and their metadata. Reopening and exporting happen on your device. Text styles you explicitly save stay in this browser until you delete them or clear this site’s data; styles contain formatting and your chosen name, never your image or caption text. Signatures explicitly saved for reuse are stored separately in this browser until deleted from Sign or cleared with site data. Each saved signature contains its name and image, never the document you signed. Placed signatures and image layers are included in projects and become pixels in raster exports. General image layers and standalone projects are not automatically stored in this browser.

The step-by-step workflow runs on one file you choose. Workflows you Save stay in this browser’s local storage until deleted; Download workflow writes the steps and settings to a file. Studio recipes can contain authored text, form answers and arrangement settings, but no original files, result bytes, export passwords or supplemental media. Supply source files again when reopening. Results stay in the open page and may use this site’s private browser storage; files left by a closed tab are removed when the step-by-step workflow next stores a result or when site data is cleared.

Selected files and results remain in the page while you switch tools, until you remove them, reload or close the page. Transfers between tools happen inside the page. Downloads are saved by your browser to your device; closing the page does not delete files you downloaded.

Text tools

Text, JSON, CSV, YAML, JWT, URL, encoding, hash, timestamp and developer tools work on what you type, paste or open, entirely in your browser. The input is not uploaded, stored or turned into a share link; it stays in the page until you clear it, reload or close the tab. Hash Generator uses the browser's Web Crypto API to digest UTF-8 text or selected local files. UUID and Password Generator use that API to create random values on your device. Regex Tester runs expressions in a local browser worker. Copy buttons write the result to your clipboard only when you press them, and the tools never read your clipboard. Excel files opened in CSV to JSON are unpacked and read on your device, and Excel files from JSON to CSV are created on your device. Extract Text can pass its recognised text to these tools inside the page.

Language preference

Your explicit language choice from the globe in the main site header is saved in localStorage on this device (toolkitta-language). If browser storage is unavailable, it lasts only for this page session. The URL determines the displayed language; browser language does not redirect you. This preference contains no files or profile and is not sent to a server. Native browser dialogs may follow your browser or operating system language.

Hosting, security, and performance

Cloudflare provides hosting, security, and website performance measurement. It may process connection information, such as IP addresses and request logs, and performance metrics to deliver, protect, and measure the site. Security features may use necessary cookies. Image, PDF, audio, video and text contents are not part of the tools’ server requests.

The image tools do not save your settings. Earlier versions offered a “Remember settings” option; any preferences it stored in your browser’s local storage are deleted the next time you open an image tool. Images and filenames were never saved there.

If you pick Light or Dark in the theme menu, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage on this device so the next page opens the same way. System, the default, stores nothing.

Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy for information about its processing.
