Convert MOV to MP3: what to know

How to convert MOV to MP3
Drop your .mov files into the box above or tap Choose audio or video. Each row shows the length of the soundtrack and is marked Video · sound only. Click Convert audio, listen to the results and download each MP3 or a ZIP. Up to 20 videos can be converted at once, 500 MB each and 1 GB together.
To get a video off an iPhone, share it to Files, AirDrop it to a Mac or use a cable. If a long video is too large for the 500 MB limit, trim it in the Photos app first.
What happens to the sound
iPhone videos usually carry AAC audio. Converting it to MP3 encodes the sound again, so the default of 192 kbps is a sensible balance for music and 128 kbps is enough for speech. Open Audio quality to change it. Choose WAV or FLAC instead if you plan to edit the sound and want to avoid a second lossy step.
The whole soundtrack is converted. To keep only part of it, send the result to the Audio Trimmer, select the section and save it again. To make a very long recording smaller, send it to Compress Audio.
If a MOV file will not convert
The browser must be able to decode the video's audio codec. Most iPhone and QuickTime soundtracks are AAC, which modern browsers read. Professional camera files sometimes use uncompressed or unusual audio formats that a browser cannot decode; those rows show an error. A video without a sound track is reported as having no audio.
