How it works

How to edit audio on the timeline

  1. Upload audio or video files, or record a voiceover. Only the sound from videos is used. Your first files are placed in order on the first unlocked track. If every track is locked, they stay in the media library.
  2. Select a clip to split it, adjust volume, add fades or change speed and pitch. Drag to move it, drag either edge to trim, or turn on Slip to change the source interval.
  3. Listen, export MP3, WAV, M4A or FLAC, and download your mix. Save a project to keep editing, or export a recipe for a reusable workflow.
Frequently asked questions

Useful details

6 answers
Can I edit more than one audio track?

Yes. Add tracks, overlap clips and control each track’s volume, mute, solo and lock. Moving and deleting clips leave other clips in place.

What does Slip do?

Slip changes the source audio heard inside a clip while keeping the clip’s position and duration. Use the More panel for exact timing.

Can this run in a workflow?

Yes. Audio Editor is available in Step-by-step and Advanced workflows. Sequence mode joins the current sources; a custom recipe repeats your timing, mixing and effects with files bound in source order.

What is stored in a project?

An explicitly saved project includes original source files (including the full video when imported), their metadata and editable settings. A workflow recipe contains only settings and generic source slots. Nothing is saved automatically.

How does voice recording work?

Record voiceover asks for microphone permission when you press the button. Backing playback pauses. Stop adds the local recording at the playhead on the selected track; Cancel discards it.

Which formats can I export?

MP3, WAV, M4A and FLAC, plus M4R for compositions up to 40 seconds. Exports use 48 kHz stereo and omit original metadata. Supported imports depend on your browser’s decoders.
