How it works

How to add text to an image

  1. Open one image. Processing stays in your browser.
  2. Choose Add a text box or a heading, subheading or body preset. New boxes fit and grow with your text. Side resizing sets a fixed wrapping width. Type directly on the image; double-click a box or use Edit text to change it again.
  3. Select a text box to use the formatting toolbar. Drag to move it; side handles change wrapping, corners scale text, and the lower handle rotates. Effects and Position open focused panels. Select words while typing to format them independently, or format the whole box. Shift-click or drag empty canvas to select several objects; use the selection actions to lock them, and More to group, copy or align them.
  4. Choose a format and optional smaller output size, export, then download or send the result to another image tool.
Frequently asked questions

Useful details

4 answers
Can I edit the text again after exporting?

Yes, while this tab stays open. The text and annotations remain editable here. An exported image contains flattened pixels. Use Save project to keep the original image and editable layers for reopening.

Is this the same as extracting text?

No. This tool adds text you type. Use Extract Text to copy existing words from screenshots, scans or PDFs.

Can I edit more than one image?

This editor opens one image at a time. Replacing an image discards its objects after confirmation. Use Watermark Image for the same repeated text or logo across a batch.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Decoding, previewing and exporting happen on your device. Keep the tab open until you download. Website hosting and measurement are described in our Privacy notice.
