How it works

How to blur part of a photo

  1. Add up to 20 images — JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG, ICO or TIFF. They stay in your browser.
  2. On the preview, drag across each face, plate or line of text you want to hide. Drag an area to move it, or its corners to resize it; Whole image blurs everything. Use Larger view for small details and the arrows to go through every photo, or Use on all images when the same spot needs hiding everywhere, such as a name on a row of screenshots.
  3. Choose Blur, Pixelate or Solid, set the strength and the shape, add Resize, Format or Compress if you need them, then save the images one by one or as a ZIP.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The preview and the saved images are made in your browser, and the photos are never sent to Toolkitta. Keep the tab open until you download the results; reloading clears the batch. Website hosting and performance measurement are described in our Privacy notice.

Should I use Blur, Pixelate or Solid?

Blur and Pixelate keep the photo looking natural and are the usual choice for faces and crowds; raise the strength until a face cannot be recognised. For text, number plates, card numbers and addresses choose Solid: short text that is only blurred or pixelated can sometimes be guessed back by trying likely words.

Can someone undo the blur on the saved file?

The saved image does not contain the original pixels under an area, and it has no layers or edit history to peel back. What remains is the blurred or pixelated picture itself, which is why Solid is the safe choice for text. Keep your original if you might need it later: this tool always saves new files.

Does it find faces automatically?

Not yet: you mark each area yourself, which also means nothing is missed because a face was turned away or partly covered. Use the Larger view to mark small faces precisely, and step through every photo before saving.

Can I blur the same place on many images?

Yes. Mark the areas on one image and choose Use on all images: the areas are copied to every image of the batch at the same relative position, which suits a series of screenshots or photos from a fixed camera. You can then adjust any image on its own.

Can I blur the whole picture?

Yes. Choose Whole image to blur or pixelate everything, for example for a background or a spoiler, and set the strength to taste.

Is quality or metadata kept?

Images are saved in their original format where the browser can write it (JPG, PNG or WebP) at high quality, or add Format to choose another. Every file is rebuilt from pixels, so camera details and GPS location are removed, even from images where you marked nothing. Add Compress for smaller files.
