Rotate PDF
Turn sideways or upside-down PDFs the right way up and save them permanently. Whole documents, odd or even pages, or the pages you list — nothing else in the file changes.
How to rotate a PDF and save it
- Add one or more PDFs. Each row shows the page count and a preview of the first page, already turned 90° clockwise.
- Adjust the angle with the arrows on a row (or Rotate all left / right for every file). Leave Pages to rotate on All to turn whole documents, or choose Odd, Even or Custom for a duplex scan or a single sideways page.
- Click Rotate, then download one file or a ZIP, or send the results to Merge PDF, Compress PDF or PDF to Image.
What rotation changes, and what it does not
A PDF page carries a rotation entry — 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees — that tells every viewer and printer which way is up. Scanners, phone apps and some export tools set it wrong, or leave it at 0 when the paper went through sideways. This tool adds your chosen angle to that entry on each selected page and saves the file. The page content itself — text, fonts, pictures, vector drawings — is not redrawn, re-encoded or resampled, which is why the operation is lossless and fast even for large scans.
Whole document, odd, even or listed pages
- All: the usual fix for a document that was scanned or exported sideways. Every file in the queue can have its own angle.
- Odd or Even: duplex scanners often feed the backs of the sheets upside down, so every second page needs 180°. Pick the set that is wrong and leave the other untouched.
- Custom: type page numbers or ranges such as
1-3, 7. The same list is applied to every file in the queue; a file that has none of those pages is reported rather than copied unchanged.
What stays the same
Because pages are changed in place rather than copied into a new document, bookmarks, internal links, annotations, editable form fields and document metadata are all kept. Encrypted PDFs, XFA forms and digitally signed documents are rejected up front: rewriting them would break the encryption or invalidate the signature. Export an unencrypted, unsigned copy from your PDF application first.
Rotation does not straighten a crooked scan. A page that is tilted by a few degrees needs deskewing, which re-renders the page; this tool only turns pages in 90° steps. For a single page you want to inspect while turning it, use Split & Organize PDF.

Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Reading, previewing and rotating happen in your browser. File contents and filenames are not sent to Toolkitta. Keep this tab open until you download the result; reloading clears the session. Website hosting and performance measurement are described in our Privacy notice.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Only each page's rotation entry changes; text, fonts, pictures and vector drawings are not redrawn or re-encoded. Selectable text stays selectable, scans stay exactly as sharp as they were, and page sizes are unchanged. The file is rewritten, so its size can differ slightly from the original.
How do I rotate a PDF permanently?
Rotating in a PDF viewer usually changes only the current view and is forgotten when the file is closed. This tool writes the new orientation into the file itself, so the downloaded PDF opens the right way up in every viewer, on phones and when printed. Your original file on disk is never modified; download the rotated copy and use that.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Under Pages to rotate, choose Odd or Even when every second page of a duplex scan is wrong, or Custom and type the page numbers, for example 1-3, 7. The setting applies to every file in the queue. To turn pages individually while looking at them, or to reorder and delete pages, use Split & Organize PDF.
Can I rotate several PDFs at once?
Yes, up to 20 files, 50 MB each and 200 MB combined, 300 pages per file. Each file starts at 90° clockwise; use the arrows on a row to give one file a different angle, or Rotate all left and Rotate all right to turn every file together. A file left at 0° is skipped and says so. Download the results one by one or as a ZIP.
Which files are not supported?
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs, XFA forms and digitally signed documents are rejected with an explanation, because rewriting them would break the encryption or the signature. Export an unencrypted, unsigned copy from your PDF application first. Standard form fields are kept and stay editable.
Are bookmarks, links, forms and metadata kept?
Yes. Pages are changed in place rather than copied into a new document, so bookmarks, internal links, annotations, editable form fields and document metadata remain. This is therefore not a metadata-removal, sanitization or redaction tool. Review the result before distributing it.
