How to trim a video
- Add one MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video up to 500 MB.
- Drag across the filmstrip to select the part to keep, then move its handles to refine it. Tap to jump the preview there, or open Exact times to type start and end seconds. Press Play selection to check it.
- Click Trim video, play the result and download it. Use Also to crop, rotate, resize, compress or mute in the same pass.

Can I cut to an exact time?
Yes. Open Exact times and type the start and end in seconds to two decimal places, or use the filmstrip handles and arrow keys. Hold Shift with an arrow key to move a whole second.
What is a fast cut?
Video is stored as key frames with changes in between. A fast cut copies the original data from the key frame at or before your start, so it keeps full quality and needs no encoding, but it may include a second or two before your selection. Leave it off for frame-accurate cuts.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Trimming happens in your browser on this device and nothing is uploaded. The trimmed video is written to your browser’s private storage on this device while you work, and removed when you clear it or come back later.
Can I trim several parts?
Trim Video keeps one continuous section. To keep a different part as well, trim again from the same original.
