How to make a GIF from a video
- Add one MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video. The first five seconds are selected.

How long can the GIF be?
Up to 30 seconds and 300 frames, which keeps the tab responsive on phones. Most GIFs shared in chat are two to six seconds long.
Why is my GIF so large?
GIF is an old format with simple compression. Halving the width makes the file about four times smaller, and 10 fps instead of 20 halves it again. For long clips, send an MP4 made with Trim Video instead.
Does the GIF loop?
Yes, Loop forever is on by default. Turn it off to play the GIF once.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Frames are decoded and the GIF is written in your browser on this device.
